Sharing the link #
Everyone you listed under Ask gets the link by email. The Submission URL with Copy URL lets you share it yourself as well, for example in an existing email thread or, for open requests, on your website.
Branding the page #
Under Guest page you can set a logo, a wallpaper and a background gradient for this request. Changes save right away. If you set nothing, the request inherits the branding of your group or organisation.
Reading what comes in #
You get a New submission notification for each one. The Submissions tab offers several views:
- Senders: one row per person, with their status.
- Response and Responses: the answers as they were filled in.
- By question: all answers to one field side by side.
- Files: every uploaded file.
- Table: a spreadsheet-like grid.
Everything is decrypted on your device as you view it.
Security detailsWhat is this?
Readers are members of the request's group: Add reader wraps the group key to their exchange public key with ECIES, Remove reader takes the wrapped copy away (what they already decrypted stays with them). A sender's Retract within 24 hours is a signed challenge from the sender's throw-away key; the server then removes the encrypted submission and marks it withdrawn. Exports are decrypted on your device; nothing leaves it in clear.
Exporting #
- Download CSV exports the answers as a spreadsheet.
- Download file saves a single uploaded file.
- Export to Databeamer Drive copies all files into a folder in your Drive, so they outlive the request's retention period.
Readers and settings #
- People lists who can read the answers. Add reader and Remove reader change it; readers must have an account.
- Edit request changes title, message and deadline. Save changes applies them.
- Delete request removes the request and all submissions.
- The Activity tab shows who submitted, retracted, read or exported, and when.
What senders can do #
A sender can retract a submission for 24 hours after sending it. After the deadline, or once the request is fulfilled, the page tells them it is no longer accepting submissions. See Answer a request for their side.
