For recipients and senders Guide

Answer a request

Someone asked you for documents or answers through Databeamer. Here is how to send them securely.

You received an email asking you to send documents or fill in a form through Databeamer. You do not need an account.

The link opens a page that shows who the request is from under Requested by, the sender's message, and what they need: a list of files, a form, or both. The page may carry the requester's branding; the Powered by Databeamer footer tells you it is genuine.

2. Fill it in #

Upload the files asked for and answer the questions. Everything is locked in your browser for the requester before it is sent. Databeamer's servers cannot read your answers, and neither can anyone else; the page says Only the requester can read it for that reason.

Security detailsWhat is this?

Your browser encrypts the answers and each file's key with ECIES to the requester's public key (X25519 + ML-KEM-768); files are encrypted with ChaCha20-Poly1305 under a random file key. You keep a throw-away key pair in the browser that signs your submission's audit entry and lets you retract it. Once sent, you cannot open your own submission again.

3. Submit #

Choose Submit. The page confirms with Submitted! and lists your previous submissions if you have made more than one.

Changing your mind #

For a while after submitting, shown as Retractable for …, you can Retract submission. The requester then no longer has access to it and you can submit again.

If the page says it is closed #

This request is no longer accepting submissions means the deadline has passed or the request has already been fulfilled. Contact the requester if you still need to send something.
