Databeamer General Terms and Conditions — short consumer version

Version 2.0 — 23 September 2026

This page explains, in plain language, the main points of Databeamer's General Terms and Conditions. It is a short explanation, not a substitute for the full General Terms and Conditions. Where this summary differs from the full terms, the full version prevails.

1. Who are we?

Databeamer is a secure communication and collaboration platform provided by Full Join B.V., based in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

With Databeamer you can, among other things, store and share files, exchange messages, and collaborate in private Workspaces. Which features are available depends on your subscription.

2. When do these terms apply?

By creating a Databeamer account, taking out a subscription, accepting an invitation, or otherwise using Databeamer, you agree to the General Terms and Conditions.

In addition, where relevant, our:

also apply.

3. Your account and security

You are responsible for the careful use of your account and authentication means, such as your password, PIN and recovery data.

Within Databeamer, recovery information plays an important role in accessing your protected data. Keep this data safe.

Full Join does not hold all of the key material required to independently decrypt protected content. If necessary recovery data or other key material is lost, this may mean you permanently lose access to certain data.

The security of Databeamer is a shared responsibility: we secure the parts we manage; you are responsible for your own account, access data, and using them carefully.

4. Your data remains yours

The data and content you store, enter, send or share via Databeamer remain yours.

Databeamer does not use this content for its own commercial purposes. Protected content is encrypted client-side before being transmitted to our infrastructure. Full Join does not hold sufficient key material to independently decrypt this content into plaintext.

We therefore do not use your protected content for AI training or other purposes that require access to the content itself.

5. You decide with whom you share information

You are responsible for the information you share via Databeamer and for choosing the correct recipients and access rights.

So always check carefully:

  • with whom you are sharing information;
  • what access someone is given;
  • whether the recipient you have chosen is actually the intended person.

If, for example, you send a file or message to the wrong person, our cryptographic architecture means we cannot simply undo this for you or recover the content on your behalf.

6. Use of Databeamer

You may use Databeamer only for lawful and responsible purposes.

Misuse is not permitted. This includes, for example:

  • unauthorized access to accounts or systems;
  • circumventing security measures;
  • distributing malware;
  • disrupting or damaging the Service;
  • other use that violates the law or our Acceptable Use Policy.

In the event of serious or repeated misuse, we may restrict, suspend or terminate access.

7. Subscriptions and payment

Databeamer may offer various free and paid subscription types. The available features, any usage limits, and prices depend on the subscription chosen.

For consumers, prices are stated inclusive of VAT.

You can end your subscription in accordance with the terms of your subscription. Cancelling is no harder than subscribing: you can do this in Databeamer in the same place and in the same number of steps, without having to contact us by phone or in writing.

8. Right of withdrawal

As a consumer, for a distance contract you generally have a 14-day cooling-off period during which you may withdraw from the agreement without giving a reason.

You can use the withdrawal function in Databeamer, or the withdrawal form on our website, for this purpose. You may also inform us in any other unambiguous way that you wish to withdraw.

If you want the service to begin during the cooling-off period, you can expressly request this. Starting the service during the cooling-off period does not automatically mean your right of withdrawal lapses. Upon withdrawal, a proportionate amount may be owed for the part of the service already performed, to the extent the statutory conditions for this are met.

Your statutory consumer rights always continue to apply.

9. Availability

We do our best to keep Databeamer available safely and reliably. However, we cannot guarantee fully uninterrupted or error-free availability.

The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to, for example, maintenance, security measures, disruptions, issues with external infrastructure, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

For planned maintenance, we try to inform you in advance. This is not always possible in the case of urgent security measures or disruptions.

10. Your data after termination

After your subscription ends, you retain access to the export functionality for 30 days, so that you can secure your data.

The export of files and associated metadata takes place on your own device. Full Join does not gain access to the decrypted content in the process.

After this period, access lapses and data is deleted in accordance with the applicable retention periods and arrangements.

11. Changes

Databeamer may adjust the Service and these terms, for example due to developments in the Service, security, business operations, or laws and regulations.

For material changes, we will generally inform you at least 30 days in advance. Where a change is not purely technical or editorial and is not exclusively to your benefit, you may terminate the agreement free of charge, under the conditions of the General Terms and Conditions, effective as of the date the change takes effect.

12. Complaints and disputes

Do you have a complaint? Please let us know first. You can contact us via our contact form or via compliance@databeamer.io.

Dutch law applies to the agreement, with statutory consumer protection remaining in place for consumers.

As a consumer, you may submit a dispute to the competent court in accordance with applicable consumer legislation.

In closing

This summary is intended to explain the main arrangements in a simple way. The full General Terms and Conditions form the official agreement between you and Full Join.
