# Keep files a colleague sent you

A transfer landed in your to-do list. Accept it, check it, and move the files into Drive before it expires.

**The situation.** Someone in your organisation sent you a set of scans by transfer. You need them next month too, but transfers expire.

**What you will use.** The **Received** tab of [Transfers](https://databeamer.eu/en/docs/transfers/track-a-transfer) and **Save to Databeamer Drive**.

## 1. Find the transfer

Your dashboard lists it under **To do**, and **Exchange › Transfers › Received** shows it with the **To do** filter. Open it.

## 2. Check who sent it

The transfer shows the sender's name. If anything about it feels off, for example a sender you do not know or files you did not expect, do not download. Use **Report abuse** or ask the sender through a channel you already trust.

## 3. Accept

Choose **Accept**. The sender is notified, and the **Download** buttons appear.

## 4. Save the files to Drive

Instead of downloading to your computer, choose **Save to Databeamer Drive**, pick a folder, and confirm with **Save here**. The files are copied into your own encrypted storage and no longer depend on the transfer's expiry.

If you need them on your computer as well, **Download** or **Download as ZIP**. The **Downloads** panel confirms **File integrity verified** when the decrypted file matches what the sender uploaded.

## What the sender sees

Your acceptance shows up in the transfer's **Activity** and as a **Transfer accepted** notification. Downloads are logged there too.

## If the transfer belongs to the team

When the files are for a project rather than for you personally, save them to the [group's Drive](https://databeamer.eu/en/docs/groups/groups) instead of your own, so colleagues can find them without asking.
