# Plans and limits

Where to see your plan's limits and feature access, and what happens when you reach one.

Every account has a plan with limits on storage, transfers, requests and more. The exact numbers depend on your plan and on any boosts applied to your account, so always check the app rather than this page.

## Where to look

**Settings › Plan & Usage** shows:

- **Current Plan**.
- **Quotas & Limits**: a progress bar per limit, such as storage, monthly transfers, monthly secure mails, recipients per transfer or request, maximum file size, active requests, maximum retention and files per transfer. **Nearly at the limit** warns you early; **Boosted limits** marks limits that were raised for your account.
- **Feature Access**: which features are enabled, for example organisations or open requests.
- **Bandwidth** over the last 7 days, 30 days or 3 months.

Organisations have their own limits under **Org Settings › Usage**, including storage, seats and usage per group.

## Reaching a limit

When an action would exceed a limit, Databeamer shows a **Limit Reached** dialog with **View Plan** and a **Need more? Contact us** link. Nothing is lost; the action simply does not go through until there is room.

Tips for staying within limits:

- Trash does not free storage. Use **Delete forever** or **Empty Trash**. See [Trash and deleting](https://databeamer.eu/en/docs/files/trash).
- Closed requests do not count as active; set a deadline on requests you no longer need open.
- Monthly counters reset at the start of each month.
